Litespeed: Taking Leading-Edge Technology on the Road

With today’s technology it’s hard to imagine a bike that can reduce the effort of the rider, allowing the rider to expend less energy and go further faster. It’s even harder to imagine that a bicycle manufacturer can accomplish this simply by reinventing the concept of the bicycle frame. But, imagine a company so dedicated to this commitment that they continually test their product in an A2 wind tunnel, just to collect the micro data that will enable them to improve their product. Maybe that’s why a company this dedicated and this advanced is appropriately named Litespeed.

It's no secret that Litespeed is a leader in the world of bicycle design and manufacture. They have made a name for themselves with their durable titanium-constructed frames and edgy non-traditional designs that drastically increase the aerodynamics of their bikes. But titanium is not Litespeed's only claim to fame. They are constantly evolving and developing new technologies constructing bikes with even better aerodynamics and lighter weights that increase speed and decrease wind resistance.

Aerologic Windproof Technology

As part of the design of their carbon road bicycle models, Litespeed has developed a principle they have dubbed Aerologic. This is this integration of its already advanced aerodynamic designs into frames that are ultimately lightweight and do not suffer from excesses as a result of this integration. Aerologic is the result of years of innovation and development. Litespeed is a company that is well versed in the art of trial and error and their commitment to excellence, even approaching perfection, has captured the attention of the cycling sports mainstream. The verdict is in: Aero road bikes have a decided advantage over even their closest competitors in the aerodynamic arena.

Reactive Pressure Molding in Carbon Models

In an effort to appeal to a broader range of riders, Litespeed has entered the carbon market with a style and quality that is truly unmatched by taking full advantage of their zero wind force technologies. It is their steadfast and meticulous attention to detail that is bringing their Archon C-Series carbon frame models into the foreground and proving, as always, that they are truly set apart from any competitor.

A key ingredient to Litespeed’s super light and super fast technology in bike building is Reactive Pressure Molding (or RPM) which serves three distinct purposes: First, it reduces the overall weight of the frame. Next, the advanced molding method yields a very rigid frame. Finally, it results in a frame that is exceedingly durable. RPM provides a superior level of control to the internal construction of the frame, particularly in wall thickness. This is how Litespeed maintains such a high level of control over the weight of their frames and it is a result that could never be achieved through more traditional molding methods. There simply is no filler here, just a solid bicycle frame capable of taking anything the rider can dish out. Every Archon C-Series Litespeed bicycle frame is manufactured using RPM, even the least expensive models.

Titanium Technologies

Litespeed has developed titanium frame technologies that fall under three distinct hierarchies: T1, T2 and T3, all of which exist to make their bikes perform at heightened levels. Each type of frame is defined by its innovations in manufacturing and its execution in the finished product. They all follow different specs for tube size and weight and each provides a unique riding experience.

T1 frames are manufactured to be tough and durable, but also yielding in terms of their ability to move with the rider and offer seamless performance while reducing energy output. T1 frames are made to go the distance. In fact, they out-perform any other Litespeed model to date which makes them not only the top pick for the serious rider but also the single most technologically advanced bikes on the market today.

T2 frames improve performance by rendering a lightweight, wind-resistant frame that works in tandem with the bike's other parts to provide superior performance under all riding conditions. The quality of ride is therefore very consistent and the bike itself will offer great performance for years. The most comprehensive use of T2 technology can be found in Litespeed's Sewannee mountain bikes, shown in the photo above.

T3 frames are a perennial choice for professional cyclists and have been trusted in numerous competitions. The technology is incorporated into various models including Xicon and Pisgah. They are light, flexible and made for endurance tasks like the Tour de France where they have had a good showing in years past. They are the result of exhaustive research and design specific to performance making them capable of taking a lot of punishment and still providing a consistent, controlled ride.

In the world of bicycling technology, Litespeed is the clear and undisputed leader and their commitment to constantly improving upon perfection is sure to keep them firmly planted in that position for years to come.
