Which bicycle maker is the oldest in the world?
Which bike maker is in business since 1885?
Which bicycle manufacturer has the longest cycling history and why?
Which bicycle manufacturer holds the title as the longest running producer of bicycles in the world and is still going strong today?
The answer is: Bianchi is the oldest bike maker in the world and is still in business today all over the world.
How did Bianchi’s invent their signature color “Celeste”?
Bianchi is the only bike maker with a signature color. The color "Celeste" or celeste teal color is the most copied bike color in the world today. There is not a single bike manufacturer today who did not jump on the famous-color-band waggon and did not produce several racing bikes in a variety of "Celeste" colors.
But why should you buy a copy if you can also get the original?
The story of the signature color Celeste is the most interesting story we ever heard in regards to the paint color of a bicycle.
Did you know the amazing history of the signature Bianchi color CELESTE? Here it is:
Until the early twentieth century (yes that actually means in the year 1920), all the BIANCHI bicycles were black. Actually at that time all bicycles were black. (nice choices, which one do you want the black one?) One day, Edoardo Bianchi was called by the King of Italy, Umberto, to teach the royals to ride a bike. Also to Queen Margherita.
And it seems that Edoardo Bianchi decided to introduce the "Celeste Bianchi" just to remember the color of the queen's eyes. We think that Edoardo Bianchi wanted to express his personal liking and devotion for the Queen.
The color Celeste is still the color that defines the look of almost all Bianchi bicycles and almost all Bianchi bikes own at least one stroke of this color somewhere on the frame, for example the Oltre XR4 and the new Bianchi Aria and Bianchi Aria E-Road.
