California has some of the best cycling events and bike races. From Mountain Bike Races to Road racing, from the Tour of California to Downieville here is a list of race events you can participate in:
Fontana hosts the South Ridge Racing with Downhill, 4x, Super D, and XC.
Sea Otter Classic in Carmel starts the season off every year in April, companies show off new products, and World Cup racers compete in Dual Slalom, Downhill, Cross Country, electric Bike races and you can participate in the races as well.
Downieville Classic in July is considered by many off road pros to be the best race on the planet. Many of the top names in the sport compete here.
Keyesville Classic in Kernville holds NBL BMX and Mountain Bike races and other events, and is worth checking out.
The Malibu Granfondo is a road bike race in the LA area which draws huge crowds.

If you want to get racing immediately nothing is better than BMX, which is huge in LA in 2019.
Three area tracks have weekly practice and racing year round. The tracks are Sycamore BMX (Simi Valley) Whittier Narrows BMX (Whittier), and Bellflower BMX.
